I stumbled on something interseting while i was watching a movie. Not an ordinary hindi movie though.Namesake -written by Jhumpa Lahiri.
The movie talks about two one great writer Nikholai Gogol and a great philosopher Joseph Campbell.
At one instance i found this reference -Finding your Bliss-Joseph Campbell.
You are asked to close your eyes and think about a moment when you were happy or in the state of rapture not being excited or thrilled. When you capture that moment in your mind think what you were doing. There you identify your bliss.
I went to this webpage of Joseph Campbell to understand the essence of this statement.
JOSEPH CAMPBELL: If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are -- if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.
I found out following your bliss is not about doing what you love or doing what you are told to.
It is about identifying what you truley like to do and giving yourself absolutely in the attempt to do it.
Follow your bliss." Find where it is, and don't be afraid to follow it.
It asks us tomake sure the life you are living is the one you ought to be living.
Wonderfull isnt it.How many of us can do this.
